A brief history of the new kitchen
We eventually made it!
On Friday 21st February 2014 - after 4 years of fundraising, form filling and hard work we finally moved in to our new kitchen and delivered the first meals from there on Monday 24th February.
Here are a few before, during and after photos of the project.
In 2010 we purchased an empty shed in Islander Road, Pialba.........
In 2013, construction work began..............
Now we know what a grease trap looks like before it's buried!
The office/admin area, with room to move!
The volunteers room, with even more space!
And air conditioning!
The start of our own citrus orchard - out of the back door and straight off the bush!
As you arrive, with the "Watson Garden" at the entrance...............
Your meal being packed..............
Just before the lids go on...........
Then loaded into insulated containers for delivery by Marina and Paul............
And finally, lunch being delivered to client Ron by volunteers Eileen and Mark.......
